About Me: Drummer, Songwriter, Producer

As Trent Resnor is the origin of Nine Inch Nails for example, Brian Bayley is the origin of Louder House Project

Louder House Project is the umbrella name for Brian Bayley’s studio recording projects. Louder House Project (LHP) as a name was derived from Bayley’s past experiences as a producer and recording engineer. “It always seemed the later at night it got, the louder the client wanted to hear their playback – regardless – in the phones, or in the room” says Bayley. “Louder, Louder, Louder,” claims Bayley, “the clients would continue to ask thru the early morning hours of production.” Therefore, Bayley coined his time at the recording studio as his time at the “Louder House.”

When Bayley switched to the other side of the glass to write and perform his own music, it then became Bayley’s studio project(s), A.K.A. Louder House Project.

Bayley’s studio production is different than most artists, as Bayley is the drummer. “Being the drummer as an artist is a very lonely place,” jokes Bayley. LHP then requires a multitude of supporting musicians and talents to properly execute the vision of the song. Each song in itself has a different origin of writers, genres and dynamics. Be it the most redneck chicken-pickin’ of country music, to the heaviest head-banging of metal music, Bayley will round up friends, guests, hired guns, and whoever it is that fits the part, to record the songs.

And the LHP songs are all over the place. Bayley writes and performs country, rock, southern rock, metal, and even a rhythm n blues song here and there. Bayley states that his first albums were RUSH, that made him want to be a musician, and KISS, that made him want to be a rock star! Over the years he’s grown to love the country sounds of Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Blackberry Smoke, Zac Brown Band and more, while also taking in the rock sounds of Dream Theater, Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, Fuel, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold and so many more.

“I love it all,” states Bayley. “I was born in Alton, Il and I grew-up on the St.Louis rock classics of KSHE radio, got engulfed in the southern rock sounds of Skynyrd, came of age during the 80’s hair bands, and matured into the country music scene. I started playing drums, scratch that, attempted to start playing drums in the school band in 6th grade. They denied me and told me I had to wait til 7th. So I got a practice pad and a private teacher to get me started. The teacher was my first experience with other musicians as he eventually just quit showing up. No calls, no notices, just poof! - vanished.” Ignoring the signs however, Bayley persevered and continued playing drums, sitting in his bedroom with his albums cranked so loud the neighbors could hear him. “I had a couple neighbors mention at times, that they would just sit in their living rooms at night and jam along with me. I was lucky with my neighbors that they enjoyed the drum grooves, opposed to a few other polar-opposite instances where law was brought in. Police would knock on the door and ask for the drummer. I quickly learned to be the one to answer said doors and explain that the drummer had juuuuuuuuuust left to go grab a bite to eat."

All of the experiences and influences however have now solidified into hundreds of song lyrics written over the years. “I’m always looking for co-writers to help complete these songs; To get these lyrics from paper to everyone’s ears. It’s tough. Most people just pass by and don’t really get the Louder House Project concept. So I’m always creating with different folks and different styles of people that do take the time to work on it,” says Bayley.  “And I’m always looking for more to work among a ton of other LHP musicians. All for the same goal in the end: I hope you get to hear more LHP soon!”
